PHB Employee Spotlight
Meet Julie Mayer, CPA, PHB’s Senior Audit Manager. Julie joined the PHB staff almost 3 years ago and she has been a wonderful addition to our Audit team. Prior to PHB, Julie spent nine years
in public accounting with Deloitte, and then worked nine years as the Controller for D1 Sports Training. Julie and her husband Doug stay very busy outside of work keeping up with their four teenagers, they have two in college and two in high school right now! In her spare time Julie loves to watch her kids’ sporting events, go for a long run, vacation with her family or travel to see her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews who are spread out around the country.
Here are a few more fun facts about Julie:
What do you consider your biggest achievement to date? Either personal or professional: In 2012, along with my three brothers, I ran the Big Sur marathon along the California coast. Through this experience, I am reminded often the role that discipline plays in overall success!
What gets me out of bed in the morning? I am really not a morning person so I am up to get the kids off to school and/or get to work. On the days that I get to ‘sleep in’, what gets me up is the massive headache from not having my early morning coffee J
What is you guilty pleasure? Reading a good book in the sun, preferably on or near the lake or ocean.
Tell us one thing that would surprise people about you. I am the 2nd oldest of 8 kids! I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters, and 12 nieces and nephews (and Doug is 1 of 5 kids, another 11 nieces and nephews from his side too)! We love to travel to upstate NY and other various parts of the country to spend time with our families.
